Contrasts and harmony in a Swedish apartment

graphical looking living room with stacks of books adding color

Scandinavian living room with grey Bo Concept felt sofa

black and white bedroom with warm toned wood

wardrobe display and orange coat hanger

This Scandinavian apartment in Elle Interiör caught my eye because of many smart decorating solutions.

Here is my list of take-away ideas from this home:

  • a long shelf behind the couch for displaying art and still life arrangements
  • extra seating cushions stored under the coffee table
  • stacks of books as decorating elements and for adding some colour into the room
  • wooden elements in black and white interior to soften the overall graphical look.

Is there something you particularly like about this apartment?

  1. Oh this is so pretty!
I really like that black wall behind the bed against all the white. Gorgeous home!

  2. I love the natural wood mixed in white and accent black like you said. Love the frames on the long shelf behind the couch. Nice way to decorate and avoid making holes on the wall. :)

  3. What a stunning home! I love the bench at the end of the bed, I have been thinking of doing the same with our bedroom. Have a lovely day. Niki

  4. Yes, bench at the end of the bed is a good idea, then you have something for cushions and throws etc. when the night comes :)

  5. I like how the pillows are stacked on the sofa. People always thinks you have to stack them upright, but they can look just as chic stacked horizontally. Especially on a modern sofa like that. Great find Anu!
