Beautiful nordic home

Today I stumbled upon this beautiful nordic home in Hitta Hem. Simple and welcoming, nothing too fancy. White, black and grey color scheme and clean lines give this home a modern feel and use of leather, wood and soft pastels here and there add some warmth. I like!

Today I was really happy to find out that Josefin from 20 kvadrat had shared the photos of her home shot for Residence Magazine. I wanted to see those from the moment she shared on Instagram (follow her @20kvadrat) that her home will be in this issue of Residence and it was totally worth waiting – photos are stunning and her little apartment looks gorgeous and cozy! So sad we don’t have access to the magazine here in Estonia, would really like to read the whole story.

Also, I want to wish a sweet Valentine’s Day to each one of you and have a great weekend!

Interior inspiration from Weekday Carnival

November 13, 2013

These beautiful interior photos caught my eye today. It’s the home of Riikka Kantinkoski, a photographer and designer from Finland. Riikka is a person behind Weekday Carnival blog which is a must read for everyone loving Scandinavian design. There are many great DIY ideas and of course stunning photographs on the blog. And her online shop RK Design is full of items on my wish list :)

PS! You can still enter to our giveaway to win a gift card from Novica!

Today’s favourite: Light-filled sofa corner

August 19, 2013

It’s not unusual that I come across something I want to share when I’m spending time online and that’s why I have a “I LIKE” folder of images/links stored for future references. But the truth is that most of those inspiring photos will remain there because every day brings something new:) So I decided to share share-worthy images right away and not to put them on waiting queue to be grouped into more advanced posts. Because as you have seen over the last couple of months it’s quite hard for me to find time for those advanced posts :)

Here’s one really lovely and simple living room/reading corner with so much natural light from Home by Linn! And the combination of black and white and wood always makes an interior appealing to me :)

Black and white

April 11, 2013

The gorgeous pictures of Therese Sennerholt‘s home that have been doing rounds in Pinterest and blogging world have set me into black and white mood, so here it is – some black and white interior inspiration!

Open, bright and minimalistic apartment

March 19, 2013

I hope your week has had a great start, mine has been quite busy so far – I’m taking some interior design classes right now and we have a lot of homework to do! :) Besides that there is another Big Project going on in my life right now (I think it deserves an extra-post somewhere in the near future), so I hope you don’t mind if you have to wait new posts a little bit longer ;)

Today’s eye candy is the home of two ballet dancers (yet another creative people with a fabulous home!). The large open-plan space is divided into kitchen, dining and living room area so that the overall look remains simple and minimal. I like how the wooden furniture brings a life into the white space… One great example is the wooden dining table on the background of white modern kitchen (second picture) – perfect combination!

Five Favorites For Friday

March 8, 2013

I don’t know if it’s just me or this week has flown by more quickly than usual? :)

Anyway, it’s Friday again and I’ve put together a set of inspirational photos to celebrate the weekend! “Beauty in simplicity” would be the words I’d use to describe that selection… Have a great weekend!

Contrasts and harmony in a Swedish apartment

February 25, 2013

graphical looking living room with stacks of books adding color

Scandinavian living room with grey Bo Concept felt sofa

black and white bedroom with warm toned wood

wardrobe display and orange coat hanger

This Scandinavian apartment in Elle Interiör caught my eye because of many smart decorating solutions.

Here is my list of take-away ideas from this home:

  • a long shelf behind the couch for displaying art and still life arrangements
  • extra seating cushions stored under the coffee table
  • stacks of books as decorating elements and for adding some colour into the room
  • wooden elements in black and white interior to soften the overall graphical look.

Is there something you particularly like about this apartment?

Stylish Danish apartment

February 17, 2013

I know that I have shared some pictures of the home of Hanne Berzant (who is a designer and owner of a gorgeous Danish brand By Nord) before, but I guarantee you that these photos are from completely different angle and you can find many differences. At first, I didn’t even realise that this was the same apartment!

The combination of muted colors and untreated floorboards creates warm and natural look in this turn-of-the-century home. There are many designer pieces in these pictures which are listed in the original article, my favorite from this selection is Hans Wegner’s CH008 coffee table.
